Your story is yours.
What we collect, what stays private, and what you can do about it.
Last updated: [Effective date]
The short version
- Your private journal entries stay in your own Google account. They are never stored on our servers and we cannot read them.
- Shared entries and booking details are stored with us so you and your supporter can see them.
- We do not sell your information. Ever.
- You can see, export and delete your data.
What we collect
- Sign-in: your name, email address and Google account ID, when you sign in with Google.
- Booking: the sessions you book, your preferred format and times, and how to reach you.
- Shared entries: journal and workout entries you choose to share with your supporter, and your supporter's notes.
- Messages: messages between you and your supporter.
- Take-care notes: care checks, day notes and your reminder choices. These stay private on your phone and in your own Google account. Reminders are set on your phone. If you add a session to your phone's calendar, we only create that one event. We do not read your calendar.
- Heads-ups: if you turn them on, we store a notification address for your phone so we can send them. Heads-ups never contain names or message text. They are delivered through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Safety plan: kept in the app. You choose whether to share it. [Confirm storage approach before launch.]
- Website form: the name, contact details and message you send through our Book page.
- Basic technical data: things like device type and error reports, so we can fix problems. [Confirm what analytics, if any, will be used.]
What we do not collect
We do not read your private journal entries. They are saved in a hidden folder in your own Google Drive that only this app can open. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or payment details in the app. [Update if this changes.]
How we use it
- To run your sessions and keep your journal in sync.
- To let you and your supporter see what you chose to share.
- To reach you about bookings.
- To keep the app safe and fix problems.
Who else sees it
Only you and your supporter see shared entries. We share information with others only in these cases:
- Services that run Skorpion Strength: for example Google (sign-in and your private Drive folder), our cloud database provider, and our website host. They handle data only to provide their service to us. [List providers once chosen.]
- Serious risk: if what you share with your supporter shows a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, we may act to keep people safe.
- The law: where we are legally required to report, such as harm to a child or vulnerable adult, or to respond to a valid legal request.
- With your clear yes: anything else needs your permission first.
How long we keep it
We keep shared entries and booking records while you have an account. When you delete your data, we remove your shared entries and account details. [Confirm retention periods, including any records we must keep by law.] Your private journal folder is in your own Google account and is deleted when you choose "Delete my data" in the app.
Your choices
- See what we hold about you, including everything written about you.
- Export your journal.
- Delete your data from the app, or by emailing us.
- Choose whether new entries start as Private or Shared.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, such as secure connections and sign-in through Google. No system is perfectly secure. Your private entries are protected by the security of your own Google account, so please keep it safe, for example with a screen lock and two-step verification.
Adults only
Skorpion Strength is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Health information
Your journal and sessions may include sensitive details about your wellbeing. We treat all of it with care. Skorpion Strength is not a medical provider, and we do not claim to be covered by health-privacy laws such as HIPAA. [Attorney to confirm.]
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
