Mind first. Then body.
Fitness is as much mental as it is physical. A session starts with someone who has lived it, listening. Then you take everything you unloaded and put it into movement.
What this is, who it's for, and why it's here
What this is
Peer support with a workout built in. First you talk with someone who has been through hard things too. Then, if you want, you move. Peer support comes first and matters most. The workout is optional.
Who it's for
Adults who are struggling. Stress, anger, anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, addiction, trauma, burnout, or a rough season that has no name. No diagnosis, no referral and no fitness level needed. If you are an adult and you are struggling, you belong here.
Why it's here
Because we needed it, and it didn't exist. We know what it is to be judged by the systems meant to help, and to leave feeling worse than when we walked in. We also know what movement can do. So we put both in one session.
What is a peer supporter?
Someone who has lived through struggle and uses that experience to listen and walk beside you. Not a therapist, not a trainer, not a boss. Two people on equal footing, one a step further along the path, reaching back. Meet the supporters. No clipboard, no script, no diagnosis. They are not there to fix you. They are there because they get it, and because they know growth is possible.
Where did this come from?
From two people who built the thing they wish they had. Lifting gave James somewhere to put everything he carried, without hurting anyone. What was missing was someone to talk to who understood. Read our story.
Everybody has a story. Yours is yours.
Tell it if you want it heard. We are all ears. We do not own your words or your story. You do. We are here to support you and walk with you, with no judgment, ever.
Unload
Say what is on your mind with someone who has lived it. No script. No clipboard. No diagnosis. We start from your strengths, including the strength it took to show up.
Channel it
Take the anger, frustration, stress and energy into movement. Some instruction, safety in mind, your pace. This is not a personal training course. We walk with you.
Your first session
No intake that feels like an interrogation. Here is what happens. See the full walkthrough.
Tell us what to know
How can we support you? We are here for you.
One open question: what do you want your supporter to know about you? You decide what to share.
Build your safety plan
Together we write down your warning signs, what helps, and who to call. It belongs to you.
Unload
Say as much or as little as you want. There is no wrong way to do this.
Channel it, if you want to
Move at your pace after a short health check-in. The workout helps, but it is never required.
You choose how it works
The conversation is the most important part. Everything else is what feels comfortable to you.
One-on-one or group
Single sessions, or round-robin group style where different stories come together and nobody's story becomes the default.
In person or remote
At a gym, a park or a home gym, or online. Remote can be a body-doubling session: you work out at home and we stay on the line with you.
We write it together.
A session shouldn't end when the clock does. The Journal is where the conversation and the workout get recorded, so you can see your own progress and carry it with you. Peer support and the workout feed each other, and the Journal keeps track of both.
You log both
You write down what came up in the session and what you did in the workout. Your journal, your words.
Or we split it
Your supporter notes the session. You log your workout. Two people, one record, working together.
You choose what's shared
Each entry is either private (only you can see it) or shared (you and your supporter can both see it). Private means private.
You can always see what is written
Nothing is written about you that you can't read. If something is wrong, you can say so.
Works offline
Log from the gym floor or the park, even without a signal. It syncs when you are back online.
Also on paper
A printable workbook version is planned for people who would rather write by hand. More on the Journal.
Safety, in plain words
What you say stays private
The one exception is a risk of serious harm. We tell you that before you share anything, in plain words.
You can stop any time
A short health check-in comes before any workout. Tell us if something feels wrong and we stop. Talk to your doctor first if you have a health concern. Our safety and privacy promises.
What we are, and are not
Peer support and fitness encouragement from people who have lived it. We are not therapy, medical care, or an emergency service.
Questions
Who owns my story?
You do. Tell it if you want it heard. We don't own your words, and we don't share what you say, apart from the one safety exception above.
Is this for me?
If you are an adult and you are struggling, yes. You don't need a diagnosis, a referral, or a fitness level.
What if my supporter isn't a good fit?
Tell us. You can ask for someone different at any time, and you don't owe anyone an explanation.
What is the Journal?
A shared log in the Skorpion Strength app where you and your supporter record sessions and workouts. You decide what is private and what is shared. See The Journal above.
Do I have to work out?
No. The workout helps a lot of people, but peer support on its own is a full session.
Do I need to be in shape or have experience?
No. Start where you are. Movement can be a walk, a stretch, or a heavy bag.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No. You never have to prove or justify your struggle to get support here.
Is this therapy?
No. It is peer support. Someone who has been there walks beside you, and it can sit alongside any care you already have.
What does it cost?
Pricing is coming soon, with a sliding scale and funded options in the works. Money should never be the reason someone doesn't get support.
Can I pick who I work with?
Yes. If you want someone who shares more of your specific experience, tell us and we'll make it happen.
Not ready to talk yet?
That's okay. Start with Daily Cards or The Journal. They are here whenever you are.
